Bio

An American writer/director, Omar began his journey into entertainment at the Neighborhood Playhouse, a highly respected school for Meisner actors in NYC, before earning his B.Sc., with honors, in Media and Film Production at the New School University.

He was later accepted into the American Film Institute where, as a Directing Fellow, he quickly gained a reputation as being one the top directors in his class while earning the support of Oscar winning luminaries such as Frank Pierson, Bob Boyle and Gil Dennis.

Most recently, Omar wrapped production on Season 1 of Spotify’s first foray into video content with TRAFFIC JAMS and is slated to continue directing season 2. Prior to that, he directed season 1 of Investigation Discovery’s hit show, MURDER AMONG FRIENDS and the Lifetime Movies pilot, CRAZY/LOVE for the Emmy winning Mike Mathis Productions
