An American writer/director, Omar began his journey into entertainment at the Neighborhood Playhouse, a highly respected school for Meisner actors in NYC, before earning his B.Sc., with honors, in Media and Film Production at the New School University.

He was later accepted into the American Film Institute where, as a Directing Fellow, he quickly gained a reputation as being one the top directors in his class while earning the support of Oscar winning luminaries such as Frank Pierson, Bob Boyle and Gil Dennis.

His AFI thesis film, TAKEO, went on to win numerous awards and nominations, including Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Writer.

Most recently, he wrapped production on his second TV series, Murder Among Friends, from the Emmy winning Mike Mathis Productions and he's currently developing his first feature film.
